SEVAA CELEBRATES HISTORY IN THE MAKING!! BUS TRIP TO GRAND OPENING OF THE NATIONAL MUSEUM OF AFRICAN AMERICAN HISTORY AND CULTURE – SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 24, 2016!
Join the SOUTHEASTERN VIRGINIA ARTS ASSOCIATION for the GRAND OPENING of the NATIONAL MUSEUM OF AFRICAN AMERICAN HISTORY AND CULTURE on the National Mall in Washington, DC – Saturday, September 24, 2016.
Hampton Road’s premier African American cultural arts organization SEVAA is sponsoring a historic trip to Washington, DC in celebration and honor of the first National Museum dedicated to African American History and Culture. “The National Museum of African American History and Culture will be a place where all Americans can learn about the richness and diversity of the African American experience, what it means to their lives and how it helped shape this nation.”
Buses are departing for a one-day trip to Washington, DC for the Opening Ceremony and Ribbon Cutting with President Barack Obama delivering the opening address, a tour of the new Museum, a visit to the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Memorial, and visits to other museums and exhibits on the National Mall. This historic event will be attended by thousands across the nation!
Busses will depart Norfolk, VA on Saturday, September 24th at 4:30am and arrive in Washington, DC at 8:30am! Return departure from the National Mall at 6:00pm, arriving Norfolk, VA at 9:30pm.
